With the release of Grand Theft Auto VI less than two months away, Rockstar Games continues to share information about its upcoming major title. The specialized publication Game Informer has confirmed that the game will be the cover of its issue 382, an edition that will include an extensive feature focused on the open-world development and its technical features.
Details on Leonida’s weather and wildlife
According to the magazine’s preview, the 14-page feature is based on interviews with several key designers at Rockstar Games. One of the highlights is the advanced weather system, designed to simulate Florida’s typical weather phenomena, going beyond the region’s typical sunny days.
Additionally, more details will be revealed about the wildlife that will populate Leonida. The game will include a wide variety of terrestrial, flying, and marine animals, including both native and introduced species. This animal presence has already been glimpsed in previous official materials, with examples such as alligators, flamingos, and various marine species.
The feature will also cover the documentation process the studio undertook to faithfully recreate Miami and Florida, researching its culture and aesthetics to build a believable world within the series’ characteristic satire.
New images and magazine availability
The special issue of Game Informer will be accompanied by 12 exclusive screenshots showing new locations and inhabitants of the region. The cover features an original illustration provided by Rockstar, starring the characters Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
The digital edition of the magazine will be available on September 29, while the print version will reach subscribers and stores later. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, marking the first time such specific details about the game’s development status and environmental mechanics have been announced this far in advance.
