On 3 September, Sony revealed two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense controllers on the PlayStation Blog: one white and one black. They cost $84.99 / €84.99, pre-orders opened on 10 September and they launch on 19 November, the same day as the game.
What they look like
Both share the same design; only the base colour changes:
- Iridescent, colour-shifting finish with a strong purple tone.
- Raised palm tree details on the grips.
- GTA VI logo on the touchpad.
- Purple buttons.
Inside, nothing changes: it is a standard DualSense with the same adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Sony has not added any GTA VI-specific features.
Where to buy each one
| Model | Where it is sold |
|---|---|
| Black | PlayStation Direct only (Sony’s own store) |
| White | PlayStation Direct and participating retailers |
The black one is the harder one to get: as it is only sold on Sony’s store, there are fewer units. The white one can also be found at retailers.
If you find it on resale sites, always compare against the official $84.99 / €84.99 price and check the seller is trustworthy before paying.
Is it worth it?
If you already have a DualSense that works well, this controller gives you no gameplay advantage: it is about design and collecting. If you need a second controller or yours has stick drift, for a little more than a standard one you get the GTA VI version.
For the game itself, editions and what each includes are in GTA 6 editions and price. And if you want more merchandise, the $399.99 collector’s box does not include the game.
